About My Role | What is QuBIT?

The Quantitative Business Intelligence Tools (QuBIT) Organization is responsible for creating products related to Amazon Global Customer Fulfillment (GCF) technologies.

As a member of the Risk and Mitigation Platforms (RAMP) team (now called Ikigai), I belong to the Kirin subteam and work primarily with the Centralized Automated Sort Processing Evaluation and Reporting (CASPER) tool - an end-to-end management tool for fulfillment center managers to see near real-time data paired with analytics

As an intern, my role for this internship was to work on developing a dashboard for CASPER with aggregations of data from various API sources, create my own design documents to propose various back-end changes in data handling, and performing regular demo's of my progress


Technical Work

  • Trained in various technologies, see 'My Trainings'
  • Dove into Amazon's Authentication services and how they function
  • Studied CASPER architecture to understand how all components affected my project
  • Researched CASPER functionality in the field, its entitlement numbers, my dashboards entitlement numbers, and presented it to the department in a midpoint demo
  • Identified improvements for internal API's
  • Utilized API's from several sources to display aggregations with respect to color logic determined by other sources of data
  • Created a visually efficient dashboard in alignment with the customers needs
  • Utilized AWS technologies to aid in the development of the dashboard

Trainings

Administrative Work

  • Studied documentation (High Level Design, Product Requirements Document) related to my project as well as how to write them
  • Regularly Demo'ed and presented my work to varying levels of management and engineers
  • Identified missing components in onboarding documentation for CASPER installation
  • Contributed additional clarifying steps to team documentation of CASPER
  • Worked closely with stakeholders throughout development to determine necessary changes
  • Proposed API and back-end changes to improve the efficiency in our products as well as customer experience
